    Description

    Our customer, a top educational organization in Malta, is in search of a Head of People to lead the HR department and ensure the execution of HR strategies that entice, nurture, inspire, and retain a top-performing team. Answering to the School Head, your responsibilities will include:

    • Supervising all HR functions like recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee relations.
    • Conducting regular meetings with the HR team and devising a department plan, aligning HR strategies with the school's objectives.
    • Continually assessing the organizational structure to best serve the school's goals.
    • Enhancing job descriptions, succession planning, staff handbook development, and engaging key stakeholders.
    • Leveraging Talexio (HR System) for HR operations.
    • Ensuring HR policies evolve to meet the school's changing requirements.
    • Staying updated on Employment Law, guaranteeing the school's compliance, health, safety standards, and promoting diversity and inclusion best practices.
    • Collaborating with Senior Leaders to forecast staffing needs, oversee recruitment, and uphold background check protocols.
    • Collaborating with finance to estimate payroll, ensuring approval aligns with the school's guidelines.
    • Setting compensation structures, assessing pay practices, and advising on optimal financial packages for candidates.
    • Aiding finance in payroll generation.
    • Supervising employee benefits and well-being programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
    • Partnering with senior leadership to offer HR guidance and support on related matters.
    • Regularly engaging in formal and informal meetings to understand staff needs and concerns.
    • Ensuring proper acknowledgment and appreciation for commendable work.
    • Participating in conflict resolution within the workplace.

    Requirements

    • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in HR, with a strong HR background
    • Thorough knowledge of HR best practices and industry trends
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities
    • Demonstrated proficiency in building and sustaining relationships with diverse stakeholders
    • Proven track record in formulating and executing HR strategies
    • Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and regulations
    • Proficiency in HR software and systems, especially Talexio
    • Strategic thinking to align HR initiatives with organizational objectives
    • Strong problem-solving skills, decision-making capabilities, and effective team collaboration

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a relevant field
